Jeremy Mikkelsen

Jeremy Mikkelsen is a teacher at heart, committed to helping people grasp the depth of God's grace and the clarity of the gospel. He serves as the executive director of the Free Grace Alliance, where he teaches at conferences, trains pastors across the globe, and co-edits Leading Grace magazine with his wife, Carri.

Jeremy grew up in Tillamook, on the Oregon coast, as a convinced atheist who planned to become the first man on Mars. He came to faith in Jesus Christ while studying aerospace engineering at Purdue University, after the sudden death of a friend sent him searching the Scriptures. He went on to earn a degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University (magna cum laude) and worked as a licensed bridge and highway engineer before answering a call to full-time ministry.

From 2011 to 2015 Jeremy, Carri, and their three young children served as missionaries in a closed country with Wycliffe Associates, partnering with Ethnos360 to support church planters among unreached people groups. Jeremy developed and taught a ministry-technology course on off-grid solar power and drinking water for national missionary candidates.

Back in the Pacific Northwest he served as Executive Pastor of Northwest Hills Community Church and then as Lead Pastor of Lacey Bible Church, an explicitly free-grace congregation that grew from a few dozen to nearly two hundred during his tenure. He holds an associate's degree in Biblical Studies from Ethnos360 Bible Institute and a Master of Biblical Studies, focused on original-language study, from Chafer Theological Seminary (2023).

Jeremy and Carri have been married more than twenty years and have three teenagers. When they aren't teaching and advocating for grace you'll find them enjoying the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest as avid cyclists and gardeners.
